Rhodo Valley –Top Station – Central Station – Mundhal

Day 1

Pick up from Munnar and transfer by jeep (1 hr) to the trek starting point at Silent Valley. 4 to 5 hr trek through tea plantations and valleys of Eucalyptus and Pine groves. Delicious packed lunch served enroute. Camp fire dinner at Rhodo Valley (2300 m) and sleep in comfortable tents.

Day 2

Trek to Meesapulimala the second highest peak (2635 m) in Southern India. This 4 hr trek passes through montane grasslands and shola forest, a unique ecosystem of the Western Ghats. Delicious packed lunch served enroute and an afternoon of resting. Camp fire dinner and sleep in tents.

Day 3

Trek for 4 hrs through montane grasslands and shola forests, an endangered ecosystem of the Western ghats. Chances of spotting wild boar, gaur, sambar, Ibex etc are good. After delicious packed lunch, there is an option of trekking 2 hrs to the camp site or transferring by jeep. Camp fire dinner at Top Station (2000 m) and sleep in tents.

Day 4

Explore the Top Station area after breakfast.4 hr trek through the lemongrass fields and interact with local farming communities. Delicious packed lunch served enroute. Your Central Station camp overlooks the Kolukkumalai tea estate, the highest grown tea in the world. This camp is under the shades of rocks and trees and not a motorable road so we take ponies. Suggest clients take minimum clothing and personal effects. Camp fire dinner at Central Station (1700 m) and sleep in tents.

Day 5

After breakfast trek to Munthal through Coffee, Silk cotton, Papaya, Lemon, Mangoes, Jackfruit plantations and paddy fields. The 6 to 7 hr trek also passes through myriad streams and water falls. You may have to take off your shoes while crossing streams. Delicious packed lunch served enroute. Transfer from the road (15 min) to the plantation camp. Camp fire dinner at plantation camp and sleep in tents.

Day 6

After breakfast, board vehicle from camp site and proceed to the onward destination.
