Our story
Two travellers who never stopped.
The beginning
It started with a question: what's past the end of the road?
Rajeev Lal and Titus PJ were travellers first — happiest on foot, on a bike or on a back road, finding the parts of India that most visitors never reach.
In the 2000s they turned that into Pontiac Journeys: small trips, planned properly, for people who want to see India up close.
How we travel
Small groups, local people, every detail sorted.
We keep groups small, work with local guides and families in every region, and plan the parts most people never see: the permits, the transfers, the camp kitchen, the backup plan if the weather turns.
The result is a trip that feels easy, even on a high Himalayan pass.
How we look after places
We leave every trail the way we found it.
Boiled drinking water instead of plastic bottles. Waste carried out. Guides, cooks and porters hired from the valleys we walk through, and food bought from local farms.
Good travel should be good for the places, too.
Today
All of India, every week of the year.
Today our trips run across the country — Ladakh and the Himalaya, Rajasthan and Varanasi, Kerala and the Western Ghats, the North East and the islands — for travellers from India and around the world.
Come and see what's past the end of the road.
