The journey

Before anyone else led travellers here, we did. Meesapulimala — 'the mountain of the moustached tiger' — is South India's second-highest summit, a crest of rolling grassland where clouds pour through the valleys like slow rivers. You'll sleep at our Rhodo Valley camp beneath wild rhododendrons, rise in the dark, and stand on the roof of the Western Ghats as the sun lifts out of a sea of mist.

  • Sunrise on South India's second-highest peak
  • Rhodo Valley camp among wild rhododendrons
  • Shola forests & montane grasslands — a living relic
  • Views across the Western Ghats into Tamil Nadu
