The journey
A monsoon-only miracle. Walk into a glacial valley carpeted with blue poppies, cobra lilies and primulas, then climb to the sacred glacial lake of Hemkund Sahib at 14,100 ft.

Rishikesh → Govindghat
A long, scenic drive along the Alaknanda past the Devprayag and Rudraprayag confluences.

Govindghat → Ghangaria
Short drive to Pulna and a 10 km trail beside the Lakshman Ganga to Ghangaria.

Valley of Flowers
Spend the full day inside the valley (6–8 km in). Wander, photograph, picnic among the blooms.

Hemkund Sahib
A steep 6 km climb to the glacial lake at 14,100 ft, ringed by seven peaks. Descend to Ghangaria.

Ghangaria → Govindghat
Descend 10 km and drive to Joshimath/Govindghat for the night.

Govindghat → Rishikesh
Drive back to Rishikesh, arriving by evening.
